SPOILERS FOR BOOK ONE! War has broken out between dragon factions, and humanity is at risk. Seraphina believes that the only hope for ending the conflict is finding the rest of the half dragons and bringing their mind fire together. But will the others want to join her half dragon family?

I liked Seraphina - I loved Shadow Scale; in fact, I read the entire 600+ pages in one day. The pacing is well done, the stakes are high, and it really makes you think about the concept of control. If you were looking for a deeper look at the budding romance from book 1, however, you will be disappointed (this was a positive for me, as I didn't find the romance particularly interesting). Bonus points for subtle and respectful queer representation.
