Love, obsession, lavish parties, and death. It sounds like a romantic love story...

Sadly, this story didn't live up to the hype. The characters are one-dimensional and there is nothing redeeming about any of them. Fitzgerald has a lovely way of describing places and some of his phrases are interesting to read, but not enough to keep me engrossed in the story. I could not understand why this book would have been banned in the past, other than the fact that most of the characters are adulterers.

I do not recommend reading this story.
