The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins

This book is about being trapped, then rebelling to survive. It highlights the imbalance of power, control, and rights of people from different backgrounds. The desperation makes a strong bond between the two main characters.

I really liked the use of symbolism and the high stakes. I think everyone on the planet should read this book.
