The Last Apprentice: Revenge of the Witch by Joseph Delaney

As the seventh son of a seventh son, Tom can see things others can't. One day, a Spook comes to make him his apprentice, and Tom begins to learn the ways of the supernatural.

This is book one of a series, and it does a really good job of setting things up for the future books. It can be frustrating to read about the main character's choices at times, as he does some really dumb things.

If you like adventure and fantasy, you will probably like this book.
